I hit the snooze button in the morning like it’s my job. I enjoy reading, yet still haven’t made the switch from actual books to a Kindle. Haunted houses scare the heck out of me. I love the show Ghost Whisperer, yet can’t watch it while living alone because I get too scared at bedtime.
I recently moved back to Chicago from Madison, WI where I was for the last ten years. My baseball and football team of choice finally does not make me an outcast in my state. While claiming to be a Bears and a Cubs fan, however, I can’t name more than two players on the teams. I’m a proud alumna from the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!) and started an alumni chapter I ran for four years in Madison, just because we didn’t have one.
I’m working on completing a marathon in each state. I’m not fast and my goal is just to finish. I’m doing it because I can. And, traveling is one of my favorite hobbies. Thanks for stopping by!

Nixie, I like your blog. I’m disappointed in a couple of things though:
1) You’re a Mizzou fan – I went to Nebraska
2) You’re a Bears fan – I’m a Packers fan from, well … let’s just say a LONG time ago.
I’m not gonna hold these things against you. I am following you now, with the hopes of someday converting you to be a Husker or Packer fan!! :)
You can hope away, but my loyalty will never stray! ;) Thanks for following along!
Cheers (And go Tigers & Bears!),
Nixie
Ah! I didn’t realize you were from Chicago! Go Bears! (But learn the name Brandon Marshall ASAP!) I remember watching the 2008 Chicago Marathon literally from my bed (i lived at Sheridan and Diversey) as an athlete who had never considered road racing. My how things have changed! Love your posts!
I promise to google that name, in your honor, tomorrow! :)
He’s Cutler’s (QB/Kristen Cavalerri’s baby daddy) bromantical BFF from back in the day, heard he got traded to Chicago. They’re pretty unstoppable together… It’s a promising start after the season from Hell!
Yay!
I’m impressed… I like your goals and of course your idea writing about it in a blog… very motivating and inspiring for me as a new blogger :) Wish you all the best!!!
Thanks! I wish you the best as well! :)
I think what you are doing is so amazing! So I nominated you for a well deserved versatile blogger award :)
